This is me
I designed my first wedding invitation for a friend, her wedding planning season happened to fall in my first semester of design classes. The class project was to design a folded, scored, layered, and printed piece which transformed into my first invitation project. Since I entered into the second decade of my life, everyone I knew was getting married! It happened to be the perfect opportunity – it brought me here.
Years later { Tanya Williams | Weddings } was born and LONG overdue.
I like to think that I am not just a designer by profession, but overall a designer at heart. I love my job, mostly because I feel creative at almost every moment in the day (I take a few hours off to sleep). I see design in everything. I pick out what plate I want to use depending on what color it is. I only buy soap that comes in cute packaging and then convince other people THEY should only buy soap in cute packaging. I’m passionately passionate about art and design and I love finding it everywhere! No matter where I go or what I’m doing, I am constantly inspired and thinking up the next thing I want to create. I know this isn’t a unique trait and a lot of people are tormented by the adorable elephant pattern on those napkins they saw at the kitchen store too, BUT it’s something that so very defines me.
I find my greatest joy in designing for couples in love and being part of the most important day of their lives. Because I am a designer at heart, I believe design is important in every aspect of life, including your wedding (and yes, your plates, napkins, and soap, too). I like to think of invitations as an introduction (as well as a glamourous addition) to your wedding style. It’s a day you will never forget, don’t overlook unforgettable design.
