A Designer's Wedding: Colors [Black, White & Gold]

Black and white are a timeless combination that create an elegant backdrop to any wedding. I chose the simple pairing for this same reason and so that [hopefully] in 30 years I can look back on my wedding without wondering what the heck I was thinking. I have hopes that the gold I threw into mix will also stand the test of time. It reflected my personality and taste all while being the perfect accent color to tie the elements of our wedding in with the venue we picked out. For print pieces, it added the extra literal sparkle that was needed to delight our guests.

I couldn't believe that there were hot air balloon lanterns available for purchase online. Not to mention, gold ones!

People rarely caught on to the T/T on the Tory Burch ballet flats as a nudge to "Tanya & Trevor".

Of course I had initially expected my husband to wear a black and white suit with a gold tie, but when he expressed that he already had a black suit and wanted to purchase a gray one for the wedding, I couldn't argue. (Oh, and I was never going to actually get him to wear a gold tie.) The black vest added just enough dimension to his ensemble and the anemone boutonniere completed the whole look.

The venue came outfitted with beautifully ornate gold mirrors. See what I mean when I said the gold worked perfectly for the space?

The gold sequin tablecloths for the cocktail table were probably one of my favorite things to spend money on.

Each guest was thoughtfully seated at tables named after places we'd been, near people they know and love. The place settings included a set of gold flatware and a luggage [name] tag with their name and seat location.

Handmade planter boxes (by yours truly, my husband and father-in-law) held a beautiful arrangement of flowers and table cards atop a simple black and white striped table runner.
